During the launch of DePaul University’s capital campaign in Spring 2010, President Dennis Holtschneider made a clear and persuasive case in support of increased global engagement by the university. Provost Helmut Epp is charged with articulating a thoughtful and comprehensive internationalization strategy. With a fledging International Program Office and Globalization Task Force already in place and an institutional culture that is not accustomed to thinking in new and different ways about international initiatives, what steps should the university take to develop and institutionalize its newly-espoused commitment to internationalization? How should this formidable task be approached? What leadership actions will be required to support DePaul’s ongoing process of continuity and change?

Subjects: Strategic Planning, Global Engagement
Setting: Private
