Learning from L.A. author interviewed on Southern California Public Radio
Dec 10, 2008
On December 9, Larry Mantle of Southern California Public Radio focused a portion of his show on the pressure Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) Superintendent David Brewer faced in leaving his post. Mantle questioned a number of issues regarding Brewer as well as discussed important areas LAUSD will need to focus on in the coming weeks. He interviewed David Menefee-Libey, co-author of the Harvard Education Press new release Learning from L.A for the story.
In the interview, Menefee-Libey states, “If you view the district as being in this kind of permanent crisis, that my co-authors and I have been writing about, where the job of the superintendent is in part to try to recreate public confidence in the district and it took decades for that confidence to erode, it can’t be restored quickly or by any single act by one guy.”
