    Dear Mr. President
    Mr. Obama
    Restores, exposes, and inspires
    Those misunderstood
    Teaches through words and actions,
    Walks the walk
    And talks the talk
Reveals what was thought to have been lost.
    A successful Black American man
    With a proud Black woman
    Inspires big dreams
    Real goals
    Teaches me how to dream
Teaches me that I have a future,
Rebuilds hope in a time of despair
Tells me that I am somebody special,
    Restores hope
    College, was never for me
    Shows me that it is
And that there is a way
    Through paying it forward
Being a part of my community
    I see . . .
    You have touched my soul
